The aim of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) is to enable patients, both individually and collectively, to take an active interest in and contribute to the planning and implementation of their health care.
To this end, the group undertakes various activities as detailed below as well as meeting regularly with the management team of the Practice.
In the past the group has organised presentations by two of the Practice's GPs on Preventing Diabetes and Avoiding Stress. The Practice has also hosted talks on Dementia Awareness, Gardening for Health and Research in Primary Care. Suggestions for future topics are welcomed.
We have completed a HELP AT HAND leaflet to guide patients to useful contacts (available at Reception).
We also organise healthy-lifestyle activities. See The Strollers social walking arrangements.
With the help of the Gemini FM Charitable Trust, the group secured funding to upgrade the defibrillator and the ECG machine. It has also provided a Bead Frame Table for children in the waiting room and contributed towards the cost of the TV screen. The group continues to fund the rental of the water cooler in the waiting room.
