Practice Business Manager
I've been working in primary since 1993 and joined St Leonard's Practice in September 2015. I enjoy the variety of challenges presented in primary care, both from within the practice and from external factors. I will do my best to ensure the Practice is successful in its mission to deliver quality personal healthcare to all our patients.
Practice Operations Manager
I have worked for the Practice since November 2001. After so many years working in the Practice, I still look forward to coming into work! Every day is different, and although sometimes challenging, it is also very rewarding.
My responsibilities as Practice Operations Manager is to assist with the smooth running of the Practice, and in particular manage the administration area and supervise, recruit, and oversee the Admin Team, to ensure that we provide the best service and support possible to both our patients and clinicians; by facilitating the training and development needs of our Administrators. I prepare inductions and timetables for new staff, registrars and medical students on placement in the practice, plus the general maintenance of the building, room allocations and bookings.
The Practice has a team of Administrators who together, cover all the hours the surgery is open. On the front desk we aim to ensure the smooth running of patient/doctor contacts. We treat each patient as an individual, in a friendly, welcoming manner both face to face and on the telephone. We also deal with all issues relating to appointments.
On the back desk our role is to cover the enquiry line, the typing of patient and referral letters, dealing with test results, incoming/outgoing post - including medical reports, and general administration required within the office.
Although the Administration staff have their own roles within the Practice, we work closely as a team to ensure the highest level of support for our patients and clincians. While we do our best to assist, we do encourage patients to try to manage and take responsibility for their own health where possible, thus maintaining a feeling of well-being and control over their health.
