Flying Start Children's Centre

Flying Start is a 'virtual' children's centre. This means that, instead of one building in one location, we provide services across the whole area that we cover. You will find services supported or run by Flying Start in community buildings and open spaces in: St James, St Davids, Newtown, St Leonards and Duryard.

What does a 'Flying Start' in life mean? The Children's Centre aims for healthy, happy, safe children and families who are achieving, part of their community and financially secure.

Families encounter all kinds of problems and being a parent is challenging. We are here to support you and your families to overcome the problems you encounter. We are able to offer families one to one support with a number of parenting issues. Family Support workers can visit families at home or in the community and create a plan determining how often to meet and for how long, depending on the needs of the family. We can help with issues such as behavioural changes, sleep issues, parenting support, relationship issues, play, establishing routines and creating limits and boundaries.
